On August 6, 2025, Lieutenant Colonel Adisak Noisuwan, Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province, revealed the budget allocation for caring for and assisting people affected by the ongoing Thai-Cambodian border situation, which has lasted for over 10 days. This has directly impacted residents in three districts: Nam Yuen, Nam Khun, and Na Chaluai, affecting over 50,000 people, with more than 20,000 people evacuated to temporary shelters.

According to the Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province, the public assistance is integrated across all sectors, with budgets from a variety of sources, including government reserves, local government budgets, and donations from citizens and agencies.

At the beginning of the event, the local government used its own budget to take care of the people, including providing food, living bags, and setting up shelters with various facilities, which were in the process of setting up a total budget of more than 6 million baht.

Regarding the emergency relief budget, Ubon Ratchathani Province has already disbursed approximately 55,000 baht on August 5, 2025, to provide assistance for loss of life and property. Further disbursements will be made by August 12, 2025, for damage to 129 houses and livestock, including the deaths of approximately 5 animals, totaling over 4.7 million baht.

In addition, there was assistance from various sectors, such as: The royal kitchen prepared and distributed over 122,000 meal boxes to the public, valued at over 1.2 million baht. The Thai Red Cross Society, the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Red Cross Office, and Red Cross Station No. 7 donated relief supplies worth over 1.6 million baht. Donations from the public and private sectors have now exceeded 2.5 million baht, and other essential items are continuously being delivered to the province.

Ubon Ratchathani Governor added that care for people affected by the border situation is carried out with the safety and quality of life of the people in mind, and thank you to all sectors for your strong cooperation to ensure effective care and assistance.
