Narai Namsin Sculpture 

The image is carved on a stone slab 120 centimeters long, 50 centimeters high, in the shape of a nara, on the right side above the seven-headed dragon at the tip of the foot, carved into the shape of Mrs. Lakshmi, around the Phra Na Phi, carved into a raised cord with an uncarved ellipse, and detailed in the shape of a prom sitting above a lotus flower. It is estimated that this carved image took place around the 16th-17th century Buddhism.

Discovery History

In 1978, the villagers of Khedon Village No. 1, Dome Pradit Sub-district, Nam Yong District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, were Mr. Wang Lokul, 62 years old, Mr. Dej Sarat, 63 years old, Mr. Ms. Sin Phawo and Mr. Tung Duang Bu Pha. The four villagers joined together to find fish and wild food. They came to catch fish in Wang Mon area while looking for fish at around 3 pm. So, a carving of Narai Nansin was found on an underwater stone slab on the right side of the Great Dome, which is in the area of the Dome Peak Wildlife Sanctuary, and this group of villagers rested in the whirlpool area.After that, the villagers returned from the search for fish and forest and returned to Ban Khae. That night, Mr. Tungduang Buppa dreamed of seeing a tall, black man with a red cloth on his shoulder telling him to buy a lottery ticket, and Mr. Tung won a lottery ticket for 15 baht. As a result of this incident, villagers in Dome Pradit became aware of the news about the Narayanasin carvings. 

The news of the discovery of the Narai Monsin carvings brought to the attention of the Royal Palace in 1991.HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn DepartmentWalk to see the carvings of Narai Dhanamsin by foot for about 14 kilometers, which takes about 5 hours. Every year, there is only one day when the villagers will walk up the mountain to sacrifice during the dry season.Beginning of March each year ชาวบ้านแข้ดอน ตำบลโดมประดิษฐ์ และหน่วยงานต่างๆ ในอำเภอน้ำยืน รวมทั้งผู้มีจิตศรัทธาจะรวมตัวกัน เดินขึ้นเขาถึง 14 กิโลเมตร เพื่อขึ้นไปบวงสรวง ภาพสลักนารายณ์บรรทมสินธุ์จมอยู่ใต้น้ำที่พวกเขาเคารพศรัทธา เส้นทางที่ใช้เดินเป็นเขตติดต่อ ระหว่างเขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่ายอดโดม และอุทยานแห่งชาติภูจองนายอย ทางจะสลับขึ้นเขาไปมา ใช้เวลาประมาณ 4 ชั่วโมง

มีคนพยายามจะเลื่อยนำนารายร์บรรทมสินธุ์ออกไป แต่ก็ต้องมีอันเป็นไปทุกคน ไม่มีใครบอกได้ว่า ทำไมถึงต้องมีการสลักนารายณ์บรรทมสินธุ์ไว้ใต้น้ำ บางก็ว่า เพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคลให้กับผู้ที่ใช้สายน้ำลำโดมใหญ่แห่งนี้ ให้อยู่เห็นเป็นสุข บางก็ว่าอาจจะแกะสลักบนยอดเขา แต่หินพังถล่มลงมาจนมาอยู่ใต้น้ำแต่ก็ถือเป็นสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่ชาวบ้านให้ความเคารพนับถือ และจัดประเพณีบวงสรวงตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ.2521 เป็นต้นมา
